You've got to understand that this isn't necessarily a good thing though. Fold3 scanned in the war diaries and NARA considers them their "reference copy" now, but you either need to pay Fold3 to access them or go to a NARA facility to use their computers to see them "for free."
Photographic floor is working on digitizing photos (very, very slowly) but they consider "high resolution" to be 300DPI, which is honestly just the minimum for print media. You know those photos with stuff in the background you'd like to blow up? Once they have the "high resolution" copies scanned in the originals are going to be off-limits unless you can justify access.
