Poor information ! One doesn't see how a defective snorkel could embark enough large water quantity to sink the sub ! Indeed that the snort would be short circuit cause to do batteries out of service at snort dive deph navigation the boat is virtually in surface and electric emergency batteries in reserve can action the sas to merge the boat of 15 feet to get and keep surface ! So , if a fire is starting in few seconds batteries smoke hydrogen vapors are produced very poisonous and high explosive at lesser spark light . But this desaster doesn't happen without laps of some minutes to allow the crew or part of it to evacuate in life boats even the see is rough since the sub is in surface .
That the sub would have exploded " 3 hours
later the last message speaking of "electric probleme aboard" doesn't explain a so long delay or why it would have been sunk if the crew wouldn't dead already !
Argentine navy speakerman is himself expessing need of more inquiry before to state anything .
