I served as a Corpsman with the 5th Marine Reg. In the An Hoa basin, Charlie Ridge, Arizona.... The footage does not begin to show the horror of combat. The endless patrols, stingers at night. Most of the time the only hot food was the C rats and several of those were barely edible. WE did not get choppered in, we walked in, with the exception of an operation in the mountains. No one has yet described their initial impression getting off the plane as being hit in the face with heat and humidity. No one has said how long it took them to get acclimated, but I suppose that is not the story that they wanted for this film. Seems to me that they are trying to say we were wrong and those of us who served there were wrong. WE should have known better than to believe our government. I am proud of my service there. WE did not mistreat civilians. Even in the free fire zones we did not shoot at will. WE did not burn hootches. Believe that they only included interviews that tell the story they want to tell. Perhaps our leaders were wrong, but we served honorably!
