On a multi-day flight delay returning to Boston from Miami, I was staying in an airport are hotel near what I presume was Little Havana. Every store in the area had signs only in Spanish. On my walk I stopped in a bakery to get coffee and pastry and experienced Cuban coffee for the first time. I was surprised that I got an inch of coffee in a Styrofoam cup when I ordered "coffee"!
A friendly bilingual man helped me out, explained the various pastries (all good!) and that I might enjoy a "cafe con leche" better than the sweet espresso that I originally got. Or I could order a "cafe americano" to get a regular cup of (strong) coffee.
At the 'American' coffee shops in Miami, you could get cafe cubano or cafe con leche, along with regular coffee. I really enjoyed the cafe con leche.
