There are a fair number of modelers who PREFER the clear plastic, but I guess they're tougher than me!
: Hello. I am primarily an aircraft/armor
: modeler but among my many and varied
: historical/modeling interests I like US Navy
: aircraft carriers and more specifically, the
: pre-war types (Lexington, Saratoga,
: etc). That interest parallels my interest
: in inter-war "yellow-wing"
: aircraft of the USN. I have the Trumpeter
: 1/700 Saratoga which has a nice complement
: of pre-war aircraft. I also have the
: Trumpeter Lexington which comes in a May
: 1942 configuration. I would like to make
: Lexington in a pre-war configuration.
: Knowing that the Lexington's landing deck
: was changed pre-war and that it lost its 8
: inch guns, I basically, I want to see if I
: can "get away" with using a
: Saratoga "island" on the
: Lexington. Looking at the parts it seems
: like it can be done. My only concern is the
: piece that goes under the rear of the
: deck...different on both kits, essentially
: the configuration of the A/A armament there.
: Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you in
