Trumpeter kits are nice but I have never forgiven them for not including splinter shieds on that giant amount of AA guns that. That is a hulluva lot more noticeable than the puny scale discrepancy.
Don't even consider the Hasegowa. First ship kit I ever built and it came out great. Gave it to my Uncle, plank owner on Wasp and my Aunt keeps it to this day.
But it is so badly outclassed by the new kits they have a nerve charging $30 for it. Also, no full hull.
: Hi All,
: I am looking for the most precise 1/700
: Essex kit on the market.
: I know that the Trump kit is underscaled
: (1/720 ?), the Dragon kit is overscaled
: (1/680 ?).
: The Hasegawa kit seems ok but is old and not
: very detailed or precise...
: Is there one of the kits (Dragon or Trump)
: like Yorktown, Franklin etc.. which would be
: very close to 1/700 ?
: Or is a mix based on Hasegawa a preferable
: solution ?
: For info I only model full hull kits
: (scratch or from the box).
: Many thanks by advance for your inputs.
