The original Nippon Hobby release--the truly original release of this mold--does have differing artwork from Otaki and Lifelike, and this release may have been used for both vessels, with no distinct and separate release for each ship but each vessel catered to by parts and instruction steps.
The Life Like kits I have include provisions for 5 basic configurations: each as commisioned in '41 and '42; Yamato and Musashi each in '44, and; Yamato in '45.
We can talk about how crude the kit may or may not be and how it requires all sorts of after market attentions, boy does it ever. But I'm simply going to enjoy doing whatever happens to be my wont with this kit. I've always liked it and look forward to building it in the original configuration, likely of Musashi in '43.
