That's the big question I've been pondering, as well. Just which way will this Mark West traffic go? I suspect the answer is some in all directions.
Specifically for this traffic to Philly, looking at a rail map, the most advantageous route appears to be a handoff to the AVR at Bruceton or SWP at Everson to get up to the NS for the trip east to Philly.
Movement east via CSX is certainly a possibility, but one has to wonder if there would be some sort of panic over routing hazardous tanks through the DC metro area. I do know the Class 1s are already voluntarily avoiding this area via alternate routings for hazmats, so that could be another factor to keep in mind for these shipments.
Regardless, this is going to be a very exciting time for the WLE east end, and I look forward to seeing how it all plays out.
