Click on the link to see 1 piece of CWR being unloaded from the rail train at George this past Wednesday.
On Wednesday 22 strands of CWR were unloaded. There were 50 strands of CWR on this train, all 132 pound.
A steel cable is used to start pulling the rail off the train, then a Pettibone tractor along with a front end loader attached clamps to the rail then together they both pull one piece of welded rail off the train. A second Pettibone with a different type of rail clamp follows along after each section of rail is off the train moving each welded section over against the guard rail for temporary storage.
