The United Steel Workers at the Yorkville roll plant met today & approved a Severstal labor proposal with the possible re-opening of the plant in the near future. No start-up date was given by the union. They are "letting the company make any announcements". Some consolidation of classifications & the elimination of 66 positions is part of the package. Some of the members interviewed stated that maintenance people will be called back in a couple of weeks, and another said that is the "best Christmas gift".
