We had another successful Wisconsin Regional Meet, at the Waukesha EXPO Center, on April 25th. This was the first time in 5 years that we have not had more Lifters and/or Entries than the year before. We believe this is largely due, to our surprise, that we were up against 6 other Weightlifting Events, either the same day, or on the adjacent weekend, including 4 other PL Meets, 1 Strongman Contest, and 1 Bodybuilding Show. You can only slice the Weightlifting Pie so many ways.
We announced at our Annual Banquet on Friday Evening, April 24th, that in 2,010 we will only be having 2 Meets where we offer all Events(Quadralifting, Powerlifting, Power Sports, Push/Pull, Bench Only, and Power Sports). We will have an additional 2 or 3 Meets that offer Power Sports, Bench Only, and Push/Pull, but do not offer Quadralifting or Powerlifting. This decision is to increase the participation at our Regional and State Meet, where the Monolift will be assembled.
NASA will holds its Grand Nationals Meet, back in Wisconsin for a 3rd consecutive year, at The Waukesha EXPO Center, on Saturday, June 27th. For people who have not lifted in NASA since before the October 25th, 2008 Wisconsin State Meet, this will be the last chance to Qualify for this year's Wisconsin State Meet on October 31st, 2009.
WISCONSIN NASA CHEESE CARDS will be on sale, through June 7th, for only $175. The regular price is $225. The Wisconsin NASA Cheese Card comes with 10 Credits, with 2 Credits equaling your First Entry in a Meet, and 1 Credit equaling a 2nd Entry at the same Meet. Regularly, the Cheese Card gets you a First Entry for only $45, versus $50(Unequipped) or $60(Equipped), and gets you a 2nd Entry for only $22.50 versus $30. At the Sale Price of only $175, it gets you your First Entry for only $35, and gets you your 2nd Entry for only $17.50. Sale ends at Midnight on June 7th, 2009. Contact me at statechairman@wisconsinpowerlifting.com to purchase a Wisconsin NASA Cheese Card.
Beginning with our October 31st State Meet, still cameras will be allowed at no charge, but people with video-cameras/camcorders will need to pay a $5 fee at each Meet, unless they are a Wisconsin Powerlifting VIP(WIPLVIP). People can become a WIPLVIP for only $10 per year. WIPLVIP's will also be entitled to enter right at our Meets without having to pay a Late Fee. WIPLVIP's will also get a WIPLVIP Card mailed to them, which will give them a 10% Discount on T-Shirts, Gym Bags, and other WIPL merchandise we have for sale at our Meet. The WIPLVIP Program begins today(5/7/09), and you can PayPal $10 to statechairman@wisconsinpowerlifting.com or send a check for $10 to Wisconsin Powerlifting, P.O. Box 565, Sheboygan, WI, 53082-0565. People who had their DVD money credited towards a future Meet, because of our inability to get production software to work on our computers, will also be given a WIPLVIP Card, for 5 years, for FREE, because we are sincerely sorry we couldn't make the DVD's. If you are one of those 10 people, please eMail me about getting your WIPLVIP Card.
At the April 24th Banquet, we also announced a Budget Plan for those who are experiencing a cut in hours, or loss of employment, but still want to be able to participate in Meets. Beginning today, we will offer our WIPL EFT Plan, where you can get a form from us to fill out, and send back, to have us automatically draft your checking account, monthly, to put yourself on a Budget Plan. We will have 2 Budget Plans: The Unequipped Plan, and the Equipped Plan. The Unequipped Plan will be $84 per year, and we would draft your checking account for $7 per month, over 12 monthly installments. It will entitle you to your First Entry in our Wisconsin State and Wisconsin Regional Meets. Normally you would pay $100 for 2 Meets($50 x 2), so, this represents a $16 Discount, and allows you to budget for your Meets, instead of having to come up with $50 all at once. The Equipped Plan will be $96 per year, and we would draft your checking account for $8 per month, over 12 monthly installments. Normally you would pay $120 for 2 Meets($60 x 2), so, this represents a $24 Discount, and allows you to budget for your Meets. Wisconsin Lifters who have Sentry Insurance will be able to get these 2 plans at $72 per year($6 per month)[Unequipped], and $84 per year($7 per month)[Equipped], respectively. People who are signed up to the WIPL EFT Plan will also get a Free WIPLVIP Card every year, so, this plan is superior to the Wisconsin NASA Cheese Card, in terms of the Discounts that are available.
The Wisconsin NASA Cheese Card, the WIPLVIP Membership, and the EFT Plan, only apply to the Wisconsin Powerlifting Meets put on by Job & Wendy Hou-Seye, and do not apply to National Meets or Meet put on by other Meet Directors.
