NASA Wisconsin Powerlifting would like to invite the USAPL to bring a team of 10 Lifters to our April 25th Meet at the Waukesha EXPO Center(advertised on page 69 of January PLUSA). We can. of course, discuss the format, but my suggestion is as follows:
1)Equipped Powerlifting[single-ply] only. No Bench Only, Push/Pull, Raw, etc.
2)5 Men and 5 Women per team, optimally. Either team can field up to 7 of the same sex, but must have at least 3 of the opposite sex.
3)NASA Benchpress rules apply(no start command). NASA will reciprocate by bringing a team to the January, 2010, Wisconsin USAPL Meet, where we will abide by the USAPL Benchpress rules.
4)At least 1 Referee from NASA, and at least 1 Referee from USAPL Judging the Platform at all times.
5)No more than 2 people per Team in the same Weight Class. As an example, you could have 2 men in the 198's, or 1 woman and 1 man in the 198's, but not 3 people in the same Weight Class.
6)All Lifters lift in the Open Division for their Weight and Sex. Scoring as follows:
1st in Weight Division - 7 Points
2nd in Weight Division - 5 Points
3rd in Weight Division - 3 Points
4th in Weight Division - 2 Points
5th in Weight Division - 1 Point
Other Lifters at the Meet, who are not on the 2 Teams, would be able to place and capture some of these points away from the 2 Teams, so, Coaching and Strategy will be of Paramount Importance at this Event.
7)We will discount the Entry Fee for USAPL Team Lifters by $30, so that they will not have an extra out-of-pocket cost for the NASA Card. Entry Fee for Equipped Lifting is $60.
Please discuss this with your leadership. I think this would be a Great Matchup in terms of creating camaraderie between 2 of the Leading Federations in Drug Tested Powerlifting. Although the USAPL is the Affiliate to the IPF, not many Wisconsin Lifters will have the opportunity to participate in that USA Team vs. another Nation's Team, and have that Team vs. Team experience. This opportunity would give at least 20 Wisconsin Lifters(10 per Team), the chance to experience this kind of Teamwork, and Team vs. Team Competition.
Any NASA Lifters wanting to be on the Wisconsin NASA Team should contact either myself, or Asher Sharon.
Thanks....Job Hou-Seye
