Problem with Struggling Artist Piece!

I'm tossing this one out to the "collective brains" - I have a Struggling Artist "MOM" piece, wearing yellow shirt and blue pants. Problem: the third "M" in "MOM" was never painted on, and the Mom face and hair were never painted on! Does anyone else have this piece, in this condition, or did I buy an odd piece? I bought it for my mom several years ago, and in the move to the new house, we just unpacked it and noticed it wasn't "finished". If it is an odd piece, is anyone able to tell me what it is worth, and would anyone consider buying such a piece?
