Poor team selection

Merstham 3 Swans 0. Couldn't fathom out why our manager decided to play our left back[Cheadle]as a left wing back and our left wing back[Smith]at left back. Ricco Smith IS NOT A LEFT BACK and both of these players today were instrumental in our losing a game we could and perhaps should have won. First half saw them giving so much space on their right wing side,the opposition could hardly believe their luck and from that space their winger cut in,unmarked and scored their first goal in a half that we realyy should have at least been drawing at half time. Second half The Manager persisted with the left side without change leading in Cheadle passing the ball back into the path of the opponents forward which led to Merstham second goal with 3 of our unmarked defenders waiting for the easier pass.Cheadle did have an excellent header tipped ovet the bar but apart from that had a wretched game and was quite frankly pleased to see him then taken off. We seem to have 2/3 players who are just not good enough at this level if we are to raise our game and compete and beat teams like Merstham. We have simply got to beat Leatherhead on Tuesday.For those not making the match Tarpey did play but had no real support and for him was under par this afternoon.Kevin Locke played up front and could be a useful asset and Jamie Beer ex K'S came on in mid field in the second half and had a sound game.
