Car trouble

Only on soaps would a woman have sex with another man to save her marriage. CS says "David has asked Amanda to have another baby with him. He says Jake and Amanda will be free if she gives him one more child." There are a few wrinkles in this plan. First of all, it has never been established that Amanda's baby is David's and not Jake's. Second, David has never been a man of his word-and he won't be this week, either. CS says "They go to get in-vitro fertilization. David fixes it so that they run out of gas. They're stuck in the middle of nowhere, on purpose." Amanda storms out of the car to walk to the clinic, but sprains her ankle and has to return. CS says "She realizes that if it doesn't happen now she has to wait another month. They're stuck in the middle of nowhere, so she starts to think maybe it would just be better to get it over with. Maybe it might be better if they did it the old-fashioned way." So sweet Amanda agrees to have sex in a car with the evil Dr. David Hayward. CS says "There's nothing hot or sexy about it. Amanda definitely could have used a couple of shots of vodka; she says things like, 'Don't talk to me. Make it fast.' She's crying. It's icky. That's the least horrible word I can use." Since Jake and Amanda are one of AMC's most popular couples, this will not be viewers' favorite plot twist. CS says "Obviously, this makes my character the most hated one on the face of the planet. It won't make the David and Amanda fans happy because it's gross, and it certainly won't make Jake and Amanda fans happy. She won't even feel worthy of Jake to touch her after this. But hopefully they can work through it." Indeed, Jake and Amanda will try to do just that in the weeks to come. CS says "They go a few rounds over this, but in the end, they decide maybe this is a way to get out from under David and all of his threats. Maybe after nine months, they can be a happy family." If Amanda is even pregnant. CS says "Not everybody gets pregnant in the backseat. There's a reason most people give this up in high school. I still have a mark on my hip from the seat belt."

More like CS trouble. This young girl shouldn't give interviews until she perfects the art of giving one without offending multiple fan bases at once. Every time she opens her mouth she makes the situation worse. This will not ingratiate her with the fans or TPTB.

I also want to reiterate that CS needs to separate fiction from reality. There are a million actresses of all ages who would switch places with her in a heartbeat to be able to work with a stellar talent and class act such as Vincent. It appears she's acquired a taste for tap beer, not fine champagne. LOL.

I think that going off-contract gives her the freedom to speak out more freely. From her tone, I assume she doesn't mind burning a bridge. LOL

Actresses as young and naive as CS don't realize that their reputations will ALWAYS precede them. What they say and do will eventually come back to haunt them, one way or another. And it's not like Pratt hasn't worked in primtime. LOL. This isn't smart, to say the least! LOL.

CS also compared Pratt to a creepy perv she met in LA while apartment hunting to the Pratt Falls satire blog folks, so I think it's safe to say she can forget about recurring on AMC!

LOL. Wish I could say I was sorry if that's the case. What did she expect? Juliet dying tragically in Romeo's arms? LOL. And if she's not happy with her exit story she needs to SHUT HER MOUTH. LOL. She didn't just burn this bridge. She blew it up with a boatload of dynamite! LOL.

Since when is Amanda sweet? I think CS needs to rethink her character. One of the reasons she may be having so much trouble with this story isn't only the sorry story. It may be a lack of proper perspective about who Amanda really is. LOL

You make a great point, Sy. It appears CS has bought into the whole "Romeo & Juliet" thing. LOL. R&J were not international felons with a very long rap sheet! And Amanda was far from a chaste maiden before she hooked up with David. I suggest CS reread Amanda's history to refresh her memory. LOL.

The best thing I have to say about this article is that I guess it could've been worse. LOL

I can't wait until David moves on in every way, including bringing Greenlee home!

We can only hope.

I'm discerning a pattern with Pratt. He starts a sl out gangbusters, then it stalls, and then he does something to sabotage it. It's happened repeatedly. It happened with Stuart's murder, with Madison and the Hubbards, with Zach/Kendall and the prison story, and now it's happened to David/Amanda/Jake. Is it possible this HW flies by the seat of his pants, making it up as he goes along? LOL.

Pratt should be able to get his bearings again, now that he knows exactly who's going to LA and who isn't. He has a chance to redeem himself with me by writing David and Greens properly together. Fingers crossed that RB has enough influence on him to do that!

IMO he either writes it well because he wants to, or he doesn't. I don't think any actor has that kind of influence over him.

I'm noticing the same disturbing pattern. It's outrageous and disheartening.

Um, yes, it has been. Prenatal ultrasounds today not only accurately determine conception based on size, but also fetal development. The month's difference between Jake and David is a HUGE difference with regard to fetal development! That's why Trevor's conception was narrowed down to November (David), not October (Jake) or December (JR).
Also, D/A wouldn't be "gross" in any way if it was played the way it should have been, as a real tri where Amanda became an adult, truly torn about her feelings for both men, with good choices either way to have a family. What we got instead to keep J/A "pure" was juvenile and tacky beyond belief. I cannot WAIT for this character, actress, couple, and story to GO AWAY!

Are Jake & Amanda really one of AMC's hottest couples? I realize it's CH saying this bit & not CS but it seems to be a shared sentiment- one I've never bought into. I really adore RPG, but his character was contorted implausibly to fit the storyline. Jake had finished what was originally nothing more than an immature & unsatisfying relationship btw him & Amanda & had moved on to being lovestruck over Taylor. Then, out of the blue, purely for plot convenience, he's willing to move to the ends of the earth, risk his medical license, to be with Amanda (pregnant at the time with another man's child) and save her from the oh-so-evil David Hayward (whose huge crime is wanting to be a part of his child's life). While Jake and Amanda are admittedly a physically attractive couple (same could be said for David & Amanda) their union has always been 2 dimensionally plot convenient for me, none of the star-crossed lovers vibe I get with Zach & Kendall, David & Krystal, Angie & Jesse.

As for Amanda's character, 'sweet' Amanda was willing to help a grief-stricken JR fall off the wagon in exchange for cash, and allowed a man who has already lost two of his children to believe his infant son died. I find it hard to have any sympathy for such a character, manipulative as he may be David has shown far more compassion toward Amanda and even Jake re their feelings for Trevor, than either of them ever gave him.

If the thought of sex with David was so icky and gross to Amanda, surely she would have waited another month. It doesn't speak very highly of Amanda's moral compass that she would find waiting another month for AI more intolerable than cheating on her husband with a man she professes to despise. Amanda has a long history of doing whatever suits her own agenda and then crying victim.

On a more positive note- yay, Greenlee's coming back

It's very telling when an inspid, shallow, juvenile romance is one of the "best" on the show, isn't it? LOL At one time J/A did have a fanbase, but I think it's been pretty well decimated by this awful story and worse is to come. That's why CS is so upset about turning into a hated character now. She liked being a romantic "heroine."

I think this is part of what CS finds so hard to accept. She bought into Amanda being changed by J/A's "epic" love, loving the story and extending her contract because of it. Now she finds that epic love is forever tainted and in tatters and Amanda isn't really so changed after all. She clearly hates the new direction of the story. I get that and I don't blame her for having those feelings--I only believe it inappropriate to voice those feelings "out of school" in such an insensitive, unprofessional way.
