We know David's on Monday as per today's previews--otherwise, not a clue. I don't see David/Brad/Nikki scoops any other day, but that doesn't mean they're not on, so we'll see. I'm hoping for fb airtime with Skye's arrival week after next and May sweeps!

I can't bear to watch the screen anymore when Gloria's on. If I wanted slapstick comedy I'd find an old Three Stooges movie. LOL

Three Stoooges is the perfect analogy! I used to love JC. MAB is making me tune her out, which makes me infinitely sad after being a fan for so many years.

Unfortunately, I don't see the mix changing anytime soon. I think it's Gloria/Lily taking up two-thirds of the show into the foreseeable future. The Newman interaction will take up the rest of the airtime and that's where David's story will come in--and, I hope--expand its presence on the canvas. That seems to be MAB's mandate: Gloria/Lily/Newman mix. Woe to any character falling outside those dynamics.

In a way, we're very lucky David falls into the Newman mix, and even better - he has his own sl. There are too many characters falling through the cracks in MAB's GC canvas. And those involved in Gloria's story are in the worst position, IMO. She's the Pied Piper and they're the rats dancing to her tune.

We are relatively fortunate, although I'll consider us even more fortunate when our airtime increases. LOL As for Gloria's rats, yeah, they are nothing but supporting characters who all dance to her tune. Very sad.

Me too, my DVR will get a breather! I'm very much looking forward to Monday and watching all of yesterday. I didn't realize until late last night that a local news break wiped out the first 20 minutes, so I'm recording the SN repeat right now and will watch it later today!

Yesterday's terrific, and Monday should be good, too.

I keep waiting for David to attend at least one onscreen therapy session--until that happens his problem is just going to escalate and it's frustrating watching Nikki let him slide and not exercise some tough love. It's just a matter of time and the soapy way to go I suppose. LOL

Even idiot Daniel got marriage counseling, for the aftereffects of his addiction. I'd expect MAB to do a little bit better job with David than LML did with Daniel!

I'm afraid my earlier fears were right and the gambling is going to slide into the summer, which means the web of lies and deceit will continue. I hate this part of the storyline. But it's obvious from the day-ahead that Nikki continues to buy into David's lies, maybe because she doesn't want to confront the truth herself and destroy her happiness. Such is the irony--he DOES make her happy. Both Nikki and David are in denial and so the gambling story will escalate, even as Skye comes to town and the dark secret will eventually be exposed. Somehow, both these reveals will intermesh, maybe July summer sweeps. I do think we'll see onscreen therapy at some point. Everything seems to be leading to it.

Meanwhile, I hope Nikki does not marry David knowing deep down he is still gambling. It is no way to begin a marriage. Let Victor and Sabrina elope for a quickie ceremony in Italy. LOL

That's the key - BOTH Nikki and David are in denial. Nikki doesn't want anything to upset the apple cart. She wants to believe David so she closes her eyes to the truth.

IA. David's story is heating up in several ways, and I think they'll both come to a climax simultaneously.

That's the story I'm seeing play out on my screen. David really does make her happy. Who wouldn't want it to continue? So Nikki is giving in to her desire to remain in her blissful state of contentment rather than rock the boat. It will come back to bite her, of course.

With the entry of a new wild card into the story--Skye--everything is thrown up for grabs. LOL David is still sliding into gambling when she arrives with an agenda that will reveal his secret. Which means Nikki will learn that David's been deceiving her AND his dark secret, maybe simultaneously, in a way none of us could have foreseen. And if Skye is David's daughter, this explodes the entire story and sends it in a new direction we can't begin to predict. I'm awfully curious why there was no casting call for Skye. Usually there are audition scripts for significant contract and recurring roles, unless they already know who they want. Which may be the case here! (Unless Skye is a renamed Erin?)

This is very puzzling. This character will appear on our screens shortly, yet we've heard nothing about casting.

Tracy Melchior as Skye would be delicious indeed, whether or not she's related to David! That she was Adam's "older woman" would be in direct contrast to Big Daddy always robbing the cradle!

She's probably the #1 student at Harvard and that's probably a student more Adam's age. Unless they thought TM could play much younger than her years. I hope I'm right. I'd much prefer a sister or daughter to a potential love interest. A blood link usually ties a character to the canvas. Love interests come and go so easily.

If David and Skye were a brother-and-sister grifter team, or even bitter ex-lovers, then I could see TM in the role. I don't see her playing Adam's peer at Harvard; that would be wasting her talent and maturity!

A younger actress as Skye would be perfect as David's long-lost daughter. She could also be his stepdaughter with a huge axe to grind about how David treated her mother, always suspicious of him and the mysterious way she died!

IA, I just don't see her in that role. And being that Adam just had a conversation with the #1 to his #2 and that she is likely his ex-lover, I think it's a younger Skye and the Erin role may've been dropped.

A step-daughter isn't a blood tie, so doesn't mean nearly as much to David in soap-opera terms--they're obviously not close as an adopted daughter might be. I also think this is a link pre-dating the two wives, those marriages investigated multiple times and which don't reach as far back as Clark's beginnings with Walter IMO. I think the past David is desperate to keep hidden goes way back, to when he first took an alias. If we do go back to the wives, however, there's no reason why Skye has to be a step-daughter. LOL She can just as easily be a bio daughter David was forced to abandon for whatever reason, maybe for good reason!

I'd much prefer Skye to be David's biological daughter too, someone he didn't have any time for while he was singlemindedly "pursuing his own agenda," as Walter said. It would give her a huge axe to grind with Daddy ... but what secret would she know about him? That he was Mafioso, escaping his family's legacy of blood, yet she doesn't realize he was protecting her by distancing himself from her? This was the essential conflict between Gino and Lucky, which was richly realized in the miniseries. Now there would be even more time to explore the always-unique dynamic between father and daughter, quite a bit more complicated and compelling than Paul/April/Heather!

To set the scene, for David to have a bio daughter Adam's age, she has to either pre-date the first marriage or be from a very early first marriage. She wouldn't be old enough from the second marriage to be the Harvard lover.

Secrets can be almost anything:

*Yeah, Mafia ties or any kind of family criminal/refugee background, even something like Brad's.

*Mother dies and she thinks David pulled the plug to collect the insurance money and inheritance.

*David convinced the mother to make it look as if she died and they split the insurance money in a scam, Skye and her mother living under cover all this time, no Daddy around.

*He inadvertently committed a violent criminal act and abandoned Skye and her mother, taking the wealthy grandfather's money as a bribe to leave his family alone and not looking back, or so Skye thinks. The reality could be something quite different.

*He scammed wealthy families with an illegal pyramid scheme he was playing with all the rich cats in town, and if that wasn't enough he got an heiress pg. He was paid a fortune to leave town by the grandfather, with the agreement he never contact his daughter again or have anything to do with his child.

*And so on. LOL The possibilities are endless.
