Lots of good David stuff today! He quotes Tolstoy and the family lives in the middle of nowhere, Texas, miles from Lubbock. I get the feeling he does come from Nowhere, Texas--but he's very cultured and educated. Quite the puzzle! David and Nikki are so happy to see each other, David explaining away his not calling, impossible to separate truth from fiction. Brad's the fly in the ointment, tempting David with poker, David weakened by its pull. He tells Brad in private, he'll see. He tells Nikki he told Brad no and looks guilty when she hugs him. A fun day!
