Its been awhile since I changed an inner on a Chevette, but I seem to recall it not being anything crazy. Usually they aren’t that complicated to remove, Sometimes there’s a washer with a tab that folds over to hold it from unthreading from the rack. The pick of the AC Delco one has a small tube of fluid that might be lock tight so it may only have that. I’ll see if I can dig out a factory manual tonight and see what it says. The boot shouldn’t be bad at least, undo the clamps and slide it towards the outside of the car.
If it was me I’d replace both the inners as a pair. If they don’t match it could be the other side was already replaced, then I might consider only doing the one. The outers are kind of a tossup, if they seem good and the boots haven’t deteriorated I’d be tempted to let them go, but as a while I’m there and I don’t want to do this again it would be tempting.
