Have you heard how to check if its a rod bearing? With the engine running carefully pull a spark plug wire off, if the knock gets louder/more frequent its the rod bearing for that cylinder. Repeat this on all cylinders and you can determine which cylinders have bad rod bearings. I like to pull from the distributor cap, because I usually manage not shock myself that way. I've seen people do it at the plugs as well. I'm sure there are examples of this check on something like youtube, since if you do shock yourself bystanders find it hilarious.
