Re: no oil pressure after oil pump replacement
I can not stress enough the importance of blocking the oil hole with the pushrod. My experience it that the oil hole size is different with different blocks but is always there. What I did on my turbo car is to bang up the the top 2 inches of the pushrod and tap it into the block high enough to allow the distributor to drop in with out hitting it and make some kind of cover for it. This will block the oil hole . Look down the hole the oil hole is huge!! major internal leak. There should be no gasket. make sure you are spinning the drill the right direction. CLOCKWISE If you ran the engine with the fuel pump rod out you have severe engine damage. It is my experience that the oil pump is the first thing to get oil and the last thing to fail.
