anyways, been trouble free since.
A few weeks ago i took the car on a long roadtrip (6 hr round trip) stuck to 55-60 on interstate and backroads like i always do. on my way home i started feeling that dreaded slight shimmy/vibration from the rear end at around 35mph and 60-65mph. any other speeds smooth as butter. That evening me and 3 others went to a local baseball game and with extra weight of people in the car it really vibrated at 35 (didnt go over 45 due to city roads). Drove the car back to my garage and its sat since.
Yesterday i get in and drive it all over up to 60mph and felt no vibration or shimmying at all.
How can this be?
Im sure these are the factory u joints of 34 years ago so its about time something went.
Are there any tricks to replacement? My s10 you had to heat up the yoke with a torch to melt the plastic keepers out then you could press the u joint out like cold butter.
Is there anything weird like that regarding chevette drive shaft or is it remove some kind of metal snap ring/keeper and press it out?
