*%#@ it!!!! I went to the machine shop, got a piece of 1/4 inch plate. Drilled and tapped a 3/8 hole, cut the head off a bolt then welded it to lock it in on the back side. Drilled and tapped a 10-32 hole 5/8's of an inch from that. A 10-32 bolt with a long shank screwed into that and the head and excess thread was cut off and a small tack weld to keep it from backing out. ground the plate to look like an eccentric and it is done.
The 3/8 bolt is locked to the backing plate with a flat washer and a lock washer. 2 more nuts are jammed together at the end to give me the adjustment. I think it is better than what GM had on there originally!!!!
Stupid design anyway. They should have gone with the star adjuster from the start. I know they switched to it in later years.
