You may not have to change your springs at all. On my 4.3 swap I used lightweight parts: aluminum short waterpump, intake, radiator. mini starter, ditched the cast iron exh. manifolds for shorty headers. Removed all the egr and emissions crap, the entire A/C system, switched from power steer. to manual. Moved the battery and fuel pump to the hatchback area. My front is actually 70 pounds lighter, varified by my buddies four corner racecar scales. Now, if I could just affoard a pair of leftover Bowtie G/N aluminum heads, hehe . Pete
