8-10 horsepower seems like an awfully optimistic prediction, I guess it depends on a few things... If you are comparing a nice, new, well dialled-in Weber to a worn out stock chevette carb with vacuum leaks galore, then you might approach that kind of horsepower upgrade... Although you would still end up with at best a couple horses over the stock rating. Thats with a good motor with good compression too. 8-10 HP would represent an increase of around 12%-16%... Not likely from a simple carb replacement with a very similar (but better quality) carb.
