Had my Sandpiper out to a car show approx 15 miles outside of where I live. It was great fun showing off a Chevette in such good condition and we had a ton of people doing double takes and giving us thumbs up. It was a blast. Oh, I should mention that I was parked next to a Roush Mustang during the car show and I think I about got as many lookers as he did.
However... I'm smoking a little. The car, not me. I just rebuilt the carb on it, which fixed the sputtering from my last post. It runs great, but as I was going down the highway I noticed some dark smoke, couldn't quite tell if it was black or blue. It wasn't constant either. When I start out it's fine, later after it's warmed up it will smoke for a bit... then stop... then do it again.
Any thoughts? The engine has 87,000 miles on it, fresh oil (though I may have put just a little more in than it needed), I'm running premium fuel, and I also just had a new muffler put on. The car ran just fine when it was smoking, there was no change at all to performance.
