does anyone know how the floor shifter retracts back up after you press the button on the handle . My shifter will not retract and it can be knocked into any gear. I changed the plastic piece inside handle. I also found to different sized springs (very small) in the area but don't know if that is what pulls the lever inside back up to engage the lock out again. Please help this is a dangerous situation thanks. its an 81, automatic trans
