The problem is internal with the shift fork abd bushing/spring. Ther is a lockout system that requires you to push down in order to go into reverse. You have the 70MM 4 speed trans./in your kit car. I wouls suggest you pull the boot of the shifter remove the metal horshoe clip (have the shifter in neutral) gentley pull the assembly up. The collar and spring will come out. Notice the collar has a straight block on the drivers side. take WD -40 or simular clean the parts and streach the spring out to give it more tension. If you need replacement parts I have them.
