Sounds like your clutch cable might be stretched (or more likely the outer casing of the cable is collapsing). I just purchased a new one off of Rick and it was WELL WORTH IT in making the car easier to drive. DL PS- I have no idea what the threads are, but why not just buy a couple different nuts at the hardware store and try them out?
