Scott, I don't expect a gift wrapped anything... who the hell pissed in your cornflakes anyway? Take out your frustration on him/her/them... not me. Your immature attitude and comment was uncalled for. You are on one sure fire path to set things off on a bad start with me. Now you have a choice, apologize or refrain from commenting in my posts. I am done with this... moving on.
It must be nice to have the time and money to travel those distances for a car... I guess I am not as fortunate those of you that can do so... after all I need to work 6 days a week to pay those pesky bills that just never seem to stop showing up in my mailbox. 
I am alright with paying a good dollar for a good car. I may have found three not too far from me... I need to get there and eyeball these cars, they might be great, conversely they may be shit boxes.
I can't see spending more than 500 for something that will need 600 or more to get it up to par (not including paint)... and typically if someone wants to sell their car they will set a price. That being said... 1000 - 1400 for a rust free, certified car that may have minor running issues is fair. And I could be easily convinced to consider more for a minty worry free car.
