Both chevettes I've owned have had BROKEN front springs. The bottom turn or so broke off and kinda just layed in the spring seat. So the front end was kinda naturally lowered.
That could possibly be bob's problem. Or maybe they are replacements that were not put in right?
On my old '82 4door I did get the front springs replaced. After that the front end sat a tad higher than the rear.
My current chevette... I plan to do the front and rear springs and shocks this summer (as well as a bunch of other things) The fronts are broken and rears have sagged a bunch. So it sits level... The whole rear end has shifted an inch or so to the passenger side because of the how much the rear springs have sagged and how the panard bar type suspension works.
It'll look weird when I get it 'lifted' back to the stock height. lol
