Yes, official GM contracts, I would suspect the molds were locally made from ~'77 Vauxhall body parts. It sold as Chevrolet Condor.
There was no hatchback model. Only the standard and the "GP"
The "not Corvette" fiberglass finish is understandable, they did not have any automated equipment at the factory. Skilled artisans took the place of sophisticated equipment. In the picture there's noticeable sloppy bodywork after nearly 30 years of varied collisions, but the original finish is really good, can be seen in other body areas. Perhaps a better picture will show up some day and will post the link.
The chassis is welded pipe embedded in the fiber body. Cannot be seen even underneath. The ONLY sheet metal part is the doors; they were imported as a sub-assembly from Brasil.
