Hey guys, I have a 1983 4-door chevette with automatic transmission. The lady I got it from told me only to drive it in 2nd and not in Drive because the gearbox needs to be tightened. I was talking to a buddy of mine, and he was telling me there is a possibility I will have to take off the transmission fluid pan and filter and adjust the gears inside there (which I really don't want to do). I was hoping it was as simple as just tightening the bell housing There is no transmission fluid leaking, and, since i'm not a transmission guy, I don't know if loose bell housing would cause a leak or not. If anyone could explain to me what exactly this means and what I can do to fix the problem, please reply. Any reply would be greatly appreciated.
