I investigated a little and about bore, being both 1.4L and 1.6L (USA)= 3.228 inches. Strokes, the (USA) are 2.606 ; 2.908 respectively.

The brasilian is 82mm = exact same bore.

Once I had a brasilian Chevette 1.4L + manual transmission and transplanted a complete USA engine and automatic transmission into it, and looked the same; but remember the USA head having hydraulic lifters. And another thing... Points against HEI distributor, and the timing belts were different 99 to 100 teeth.

Am planning to buy another brasilian 1.4L and would like to fit the USA head onto it.

Any clues/comments/suggestions welcome.
