Personally I think horse slaughter is necessary and part of the 'market' regarding livestock.
I doubt we will ever see it happen in the states. Only 2 sales in Oregon handle 'export' horses. Woodburn and Vale, Enumclaw WA is the main sale yard for 'export' horses. They are trucked either to Canada or Mexico for slaughter, in cow trucks.
Would be better for them to be processed here, better for them and better prices for the sellers. Many sell for less than $50/head.
