Looking for any information on the Powell family from Southampton County VA. At one time they lived in Newsoms, VA next to the railroad track. My great great grandfather was named William Powell and he was married to a woman named Missouri. They had at least 5 children. He was a railroad worker.
One of their children was my great grand father who was named Paul but he died of smallpox at about 21 years of age. His other siblings survived and I am sure they had children but my grandfather one of Paul's sons left Virginia and went north and lost track of the rest of the family.
