Posted by LC If you have any question please contact Chief W.D. Brown III in regards to tracing your ancestry to the Cheroenhaka-Nottoways. He has a list of surnames and those who were counted on the special Nottoway Census count of 1808. If they were in Southampton, Surry, Isle of Wight and neighbor counties around that time, they may have been counted. Click on the link below for add'l info.

The 6th annual Cheroenhaka-Nottoway pow wow will be held in Southampton County (Courtland) July 21st and 22nd, 2007.
