My uncle was Andrew Dunn 1822-1893 of Petersburg, he married Mary Octavia Branch 1823 - 1902, Octavia was the daughter of David Henry Branch born 1795 in Chesterfield Virginia. Octavia had a brother named Thomas Henry Branch. Could this Thomas be the same you mention as Mayor of Petersburg? I don't know enough about the Branch line as I am connected to the Dunn's but would be happy to correspond info and I would be interested in any pictures of the Branch family.
