Thank you for your reply! What I have learned, much unsupported, is that a William Keys came to Va. from England with his son John. William remarried in Va. & had 2 more sons. One named William. Army records say son William went to Surry NC for a time. I do not know why. Do you have information saying father William (& John) went to Surry? I have only found one tax record that mentions them (John 1760)in Va. Have you any record of them? Where would I go to search records for Surry NC at that time?
