I am in search of information about the Keys family from about 1740. I believe (but can't document)William Keys came from England w/his son John & settled in Petersburg. Both appear on a tax role in 1760 making John at least 16. William did (re)married and had 2 more sons William & Ben. John also married and had a son Thomas about 1772. Thomas married, had several children & moved them to Bedford Va about 1807. My documents begin with a son Stanfield there. A family letter claims Thomas returned to settle his fathers estate about 1824. It contained land in Cabin Point. I have no documents, records, graves for Petersburg. Can anyone help with my search?
