Posted by Morag She married John B. Harrison of Brunswick Co., VA. John B.Harrison and Louisa Burwell had a son, George Washington Harrison, who was born in 1829. George Washington Burwell married Sarah Virginia Walton. In the book, "Civil War Soldiers of Brunswick County, Virginia", the author states that George Washington Harrison was the son of John Harrison and Louisa Burwell of Petersburg. Given the time period that she was born, the only Burwells that I can locate in Petersburg were John Burwell and his wife, Anne Powell. I can find no indication of a Louisa Burwell born between 1789 and 1790 for any Burwells in Virginia. The 1850 census shows her living with her son, his wife, and a girl named Mary J. Harrison age 10. It doesn't state what her relationship is to the family, so I don't know if she's Louisa's daughter, or a niece, or one of John B.'s granddaughters by his first marriage. John B. had a son (and I believe a daughter) by his first marriage, named William Colin Harrison who was born Dec. 2, 1806. I know that William had a daughter named Lucy Ann Harrison who was born Nov. 24, 1829. Perhaps Mary J. is his daughter. Anyway, has anyone heard of a Louisa (or Louise) Burwell born around 1789-1790? I have been trying to locate who the parents of Louisa Burwell Born between 1789 and 1790.
It was his second marriage. His first was to Mary Wilkins Cocke. I believe that this may have been her second marriage as well.
