There are two Quarles listed in the roster of The 13th Va Cavalry by Daniel T. Balfour. This book is a Va Regimental Histories Series Book of the Civil War. There is Charles H. Quarles, age 19, Co. B (The Petersburg Cavalry, first called "Petersburg Light Dragoons") organized 11/30/1859. The other is J. B. Quarles, Co. E, "Cockade Cavalry", organized 3/5/1862.
