I attended my first SSP event and was wowed! So much eye candy in all of the outfits and ensembles presented not only as part of the convention package but to buy or pre-order! Because this was actually 10 minutes away from home, I had offered to Sandra and Michael my assistance prior to the start of the convention. I was privileged to actually help behind the scenes in the ready room wherever I was needed which was mostly sewing extra items or changing out trims or snaps, etc., dressing dolls, helping to assemble packages. What a great experience! So much goes on behind the scenes prior and after that I have a full appreciation for all conventions and those who organize them!
I also have such a deep respect for the research Sandra does to provide such a wonderful event. All the details that were given at each event about the local area, museums and socialites who wore couture fashion of the period as well as the designers they worked with. Elizabeth Parke Firestone was at the center of Sandra’s vision for this convention. With an extra treat of Kathryn Hepburn’s movie costumes.

My 2 Gene Dolls that I just got at the event wearing outfits that I received or purchased:
Allegro and Intermezzo
Templar-Bronze, True Love, Espalier
Libretto and Staccato
JS Ginny in Reprise:
Gene in front of the Stan Hywet backdrop we received:
The gown from the Elizabeth Firestone collection at the Western Reserve Museum and the inspired Convention gown we will receive when it is produced. I think it took the factory 3 times to get the gown the way Sandra wanted and it will be worth the wait! Called Virtuoso.
The Convention diorama by Sue of the Stan Hywett Entrance was fabulous!
Stan Hywett Recital gown:
The rest of the images provide most but not all of the outfits on display. There were some fabulous gowns on the last day that aren't here. Look at Sandra's site for more!
