While I will agree with some of your points the fact of the matter is TODAYS modifieds are a completely different type of car than a late model or street stock. 30 years ago that was a different story. Modifieds today are built from the ground up completely different than the other two classes. The only thing remotely close is the fact that a stock front clip is being used. Modifieds today have no stock type firewall or floorboards. Most have quickchange rear ends, alumninum heads and the motor location is different. Modidieds vary from the late models by a bunch too. Rack and Pinion vs Box, wheelbase is 6" shorter on a late model and late models use a fab front clip that's completely adjustable. Most lates are on bumps right now with high dollar shocks. For the last couple years when guys started running bumps on the mods they were raising the front clips to get the travel and that is what started killing the class which is why there is now shock, spring and bump rule in place. Maybe 20 or 30 years ago you could combine the classes because they were close but to say that today is just ignorant. The cars today are completely different.
