Brian's recent post on conformation got me thinking. While there are quite a few registries, I have yet to hear of a breed club. Am I out of the loop? Are there any breed clubs for the OEB?
Would there be interest in getting one going? How about one that offers pedigree services along with registration as long as the dogs conform to the standard? A club that sets standards for membership and sets standards for registration. A club that requires a breed survey to be done on the sire and dam prior to puppy registration? Write a standard that not only describes the structure in detail but is equally descriptive about temperament and function? Have a place that is centrally located and hold these breed surveys?
We're only limited by our imaginations on the possibilities. No politics, no bullshit, and above all no hype. Have the requirements the dog either passes or fails on the merit of the dog, wishful thinking, pipe dreams, or can we make this happen?
You're fat, I'ld sugar coat it but you'ld probably just eat that to.
I'm fairly new to all of this but if it's for the betterment of the breed, I'm definitely in!
The ONLY thing standing between you and your success is YOU!!
I'm ready to be part of something. It's about time that a revolution gets underway.
