Bulldogge Coats

Evolution Bulldogges

Nissa and I were outside with the mini pups playin in the big yard for quite some time this evening. Those goofy lil fat bastards running around chewing on each other's butts, rolling on their backs and kickin at each other, biting at the air, and climbing all over me to get petted... That's the life.

I love feeling all those fat lil warm bulldogge bodies as I pet one, then the next, then the next. Bulldogges can have a pretty wide variation in the feel of their coats, but there is nothing quite like a bulldogge with a short, dense, super soft coat, with moderately thin supple skin, and just a touch of body wrinkle.
The breed standard calls for nothing more than a short coat. This leaves tons of room for variation. What's your favorite bulldogge coat type?

Phantom has a super tight coat and very smooth which I like but Sophies coat is my favorite, hader to explain it, but hello u got foxxy and epic so u know what i am talking about

Sophie has a really tight coat that lays super flat like it was painted on... that's a good one too!

Yeah, so far we have had some killer luck at reproducing that coat type here. Static has been throwin down!

But all three of my dogs (two are pups) that come off of Ali blood have the best coats of any of my dogs or really any I have seen. They are not only short but dense (like Brian's head) and soft as velour. Must be the infusion of pit, I dont know. JimmyP

i like the short dense silky smooth coats that just seem painted on you know the kind yopu keep petting cause you just can't stop.my 2 gurls i kept back from Baby D and luther have perfect coats IMO

Its hard to put in words, I like it thick, dense, and soft. I got one bulldogge w/ a coarse coat and it just isnt the same when you pet him. I love a tight short coat for looks as it really shows the muscle tone.

But I want my bulldogges coats thicker and a little longer than a pitbulls, it needs to be functional as my dogs have to deal with the winter. Not long haired either as that would be nasty, again its hard for me to put into words. The only way I can describe it is pet that dog, now pet that dog, you see what I mean?...lol

LIKE YOU SAID....TIGHT, SUPER SHORT, DENSE,SOFT COAT....MY GIRL LULU HAS A COAT LIKE THAT AND I WAS SO AMAZED WHEN I GOT HER AND I THOUGHT IT WOULD FADE AS SHE GOT OLDER BUT SHE STILL HAS IT AND I LOVE IT....HOPING SHE PASSES IT ON TO HER PUPS.....

My first bully girl had the shortest softest coat. It almost felt like an undercoat. People always asked me what I used to make it so soft but it was just the genes. I still talk about making a pelt from that coat haha... J/K!!!!
