Since tomorrow is Halloween I thought I would share our experience last night at our local "haunted house" - Talladega Frights! I had managed to get some free tickets to it from a friend and with much complaining from Kim... mainly about having to go with THE PARENTS, we heading out. Huge line and we were told that the wait would be about an hour but if we wanted to pay $5 extra per ticket we could go to the head of the line.... pretty good deal since the tickets had been free! Now I don't get scared by these things, mostly I find them cute and entertaining. However,the staging, lighting, make-up and costumes at this one could be held up to something Disneyland could produce and still shine! There were a couple of moments of worry when we entered a room where Freddy Kruger and the Halloween fellow - I forgot his name since I have never seen any of the movies, were fighting and you had to find an exit. Very hard to do with the stobe lights, fake fog and the fans that were blowing on the black tarps that made up the "walls"! Okay, I will admit I had a few moments of concern! Anyhoo, everyone survived and once the smarmy comments stopped the young'un had a good time and will be going bak tonite with some of her friends! I also think my hand will heal up nicely in a few days..... she had such a death grip on it that it was slightly swollen this morning!! Have any of you gone to your local Haunted House? Bev
