Very interesting, what does your Vet charge for these procedures for both the male & female?
I find that most Vets take the quick and easy route (most profitable as well) but if is reasonable it could be a great option if you want to control your lines.
As for shelters it is very rare that you will find an OEB up for adoption so for the moment it is safe to say the OEB population has not gone crazy.
Good breeders will never, ever be able to control the breed as a whole, all you can do is forge ahead with your program and monitor who you sell your pups to. If that means sterilizing all your pups before they leave your kennel then so be it.
At the moment there are too many variations of the OEB and don't lay all the blame on the vogue breeders, there are very many reputable breeders out there where their kennels have a very different look then others, all claiming to be OEB's.
There is no quick fix and it will take years before it gets straightened out. Like I said earlier, you will have to bite your lip and control the only thing that you can which is your own program.
