If we are going to stop the OEB from going to Hell in a handbasket, breeders are going to have to step up and start taking control of their lines.
The Soloution
Imagine, no more customers buying a dog as "a pet only" and still breeding it papers or not. By advertising that PET PUPPIES are already altered, do you know how many LOOSERS you can elimiate from calling right off the bat?! I don't have to deal with the scheisters trying to feed me a line anymore. And when the odd one gets through, that shuts them down pretty quickly!
You know the call. "We are not interested in breeding, only a good family pet."
"Well then you will be happy to know that he/she is already altered, so you won't have any 'accidents'."
"Oh, but what if we decide down the line that we do want to breed, I want to have the option."
...and there you have it. The real intentions.
As an alternative to tubal ligations (and still needing to spay later) we have convinced our vet to do a hysterectomy only and not a full ovarian hysterectomy (OVH), leaving the ovaries in tact. This is the female equivalent of a vesectomy.
Geeze, with these options, I don't know why vets haven't bee doing this all along instead of full gonadectomies!?
Think of how many pets we can keep out of the shelters this way people! Not to mention the hundreds of BRBs popping up every minute, driving down our prices. And no more breeding the duds that we sell as PETS ONLY and find out that they are out there multipling.
Think about it...
If you're riding' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.
