-Michael Salgado is an extraordinary singer accordionist and a talented performer who is equally at home with the Norteño/Tejano music of his homeland and American-style country music. His virtuosity as a left-handed player earned him the nickname “El Zurdo de Oro”—The Golden Left Hand. He gained prominence in the mid-1990s by looking back to the 'Norteño' sound influenced by Ramon Ayala, and by subsequently introducing the style to the younger generation. Mr. Salgado began climbing the Latin American music charts in 1995 after releasing his single "Cruz de Madera.” Salgado's 1996 album "En Concierto" introduced his most successful single, "Sin Ella,” which reached the top 20 on the charts. In 2007, his record “En Vivo” earned him a Latin Grammy Award for Best Norteño Album. Among Salgado’s popular country tunes are “She's Got One Hell of a Memory,” "Honky Tonks and Cantinas,” and "Far Cry from Gone."
