Posted by stephani/va The family, the herd, and the other critters are doing well. I lost one of my kitties last week and fear he is gone for good. He had wanted to spend time outside, and didn't come home one night. May have been gotten by a fox, coon, or ?? The old man of the herd (Challenger) is still hanging on, but his age is showing more so now. Of the teeth he has left, they are only tiny little nubs. We manage to keep him in decent flesh with thrice daily feedings of Triple Crown Senior mash. He's lost that bounce in his step, tried to canter last weekend coming in from pasture and just couldn't do it. He still is the sweetest old man and I love him dearly. The Spirit Pony (aka Little Turd) has worked very well with me this summer. He's worn a saddle, but no rider. I hope to continue with his training and move into ground driving this weekend. The 2 blind ones (Jasmine and Skipper) still amaze me every day. They navigate in and out of the pasture to the paddocks by themselves, and stick right with the rest of the herd. LeChuza and Smokey are calm and sure. I rode both a little this summer, both bareback with a leadrope and halter. Stunning for LeChuza, as when I first got her she took me on many an out of control bush ride. I hope that everyone is well and the critters are round and fuzzy. Steph

it has been a long time, and my journey has taken me around the hill a few times.
